Come, Follow Me May 13-19: "What Lack I Yet?"
Hello! Welcome back to Simply Family Home Evening! If this is your first time here, I am so happy that you've found us! I hope you find something you can use to help teach the Gospel in your home to your kids or in your Primary class and that you come back and visit us again next week.
This week we get to learn about the temple and eternal marriage and the story of when Jesus blessed the little children. {My heart just swells when I think of what that moment must have been like!!!} Such a great week!
We will be studying Matthew 19-20; Mark 10; and Luke 18. The Come, Follow Me lesson title for this week is "What Lack I Yet?" I love this question as a pondering point for this week. I know personally there are SO SO SO MANY things that I still lack. But I want to take the time to really evaluate and ask the Spirit to help me evaluate where I actually stand with the Lord. What things can I give up to come closer to him and be a better disciple? Not to look down on myself but to help me set goals to improve and maybe discover where I have some divine discontent in my life; I want to come closer to Him and I think this question is a beautiful way to start.. If you feel so inspired I hope that you will join me in that this week. Well anyway, let's get onto the Simply Family Home Evening lesson ideas shall we?

Ask the children if they would be able to give up all their toys if Jesus asked them to. Sometimes we are asked to do hard things but even if it may seem impossible, Jesus would help us find a way to do it and we will be blessed far above anything that we gave up.
Tell your kids that even though we can’t ask Jesus face to face what He would have us do better, we each can pray and seek personal revelation for what we need to improve in our lives. Tell your kids about a time when you have asked Heavenly Father for direction in your life or when you have had to do something hard but felt the support and/or received blessings from Heavenly Father.

Thank you so much for this post. I am teaching Sunday School for the first time this Sunday and I am really happy that I found you. I will be coming back every week! I will also teach my girls using the idea of asking them what they would do if the Lord asked them to give up all of their toys, I cannot wait to hear their response :)
