When I serve others, I am also serving God
and
All of My
blessings come from Heavenly Father
Preparation: Set up a (safe) tower for you kids and a tent for the rest of the family. (You could go to the park and have the kids up on the play structure and the family down on the grass.) Print out and prepare the primary handout or get another crown. Have a bean bag or
something else you can play hot potato with.
Opening Song: “When We’re Helping” pg 198
Scriptures: Mosiah 2:10–26
Lesson:
Watch the Book of Mormon Story Chapter 12: "King Benjamin".
Or the Book of Mormon Video King Benjamin Addresses His People
Let each of your kids take a turn up on the tower reading phrases from King Benjamin’s sermon. It's ok if more then one kid reads the same verse.
Read Mosiah 2:17 from the “tower”. Have your kids repeat, ““When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God,” until they can say all or part of it by themselves.

Talk to your kids about what this means and as a family, come up with
some ways you can serve others this week.
Read Mosiah 2:21 from the “tower”. Explain to your kids that God is the source of all our blessings.
Sit everyone on the floor and play “hot potato”. Whom ever gets left with the “hot potato” has to say one thing they are thankful for, and where that blessing comes from.
Read Mosiah 2:22 from the tower. How can we show we are thankful for the blessings we have been given? Talk to you kids about keeping the commandments.
