Easter Week Countdown
Palm Sunday, April 5
Day 7

Song: “Easter Hosanna,” pg 68 Children's Songbook
Scriptures: Zechariah 9:9Matthew 21:1–11Mark 11:1–11

Jesus walked from Bethany to Jerusalem. He rode triumphantly into the city on a donkey, as a verse in the Old Testament said He would. People recognized Him as their King, shouting, “Hosanna,” and laying down palm leaves and cloaks in front of the donkey to keep dust from getting on the Savior. His three year ministry took Him across the Holy Land, where He taught, worked miracles, and spread the light of His gospel. But this time, Jesus Christ is preparing to perform His most important miracle of all. Like everything He did, Jesus Christ’s entrance fulfills prophecy. His arrival in Jerusalem is powerful evidence that God keeps His promises to His children. Our Heavenly Father provided a way for us to overcome sin and death – through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus visited the temple and then returned to Bethany.*

Activity: Make your own palm leaves. Trace your kids’ hands onto green construction paper. Make 5 or six for each kid. On each hand, write one way we can show our love for Jesus. Glue each hand print onto a craft stick so each kid has their own palm leaf.
